Information Services
An important aspect of our mission is assisting
visitors with learning more about Land Between The Lakes National
Recreation Area. A part of this includes sharing information about
LBL and its environs.
We provide service to the visiting public at
6 locations of Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. We
greet and orient the public, provide LBL and regional information, and
make LBL user permits available to the visitors.

Everyone needs to see a map of the travel destination. We have maps
for the traveler to assist in reaching LBL but also maps which help to
find that special destination after you enter Land Between The Lakes
National Recreation Area.

We also provide services through use of a toll-free telephone line. This
service answers questions from persons from both far away and near.
Questions include hours of operation, cost of admission, availability of
services, Planetarium program discussion, and other such visitor related
question. This year has had a large number of calls from teachers
inquiring into programs for their students to take advantage of
environmental education as well as other educational opportunities at LBL.
LBL offers a great deal of recreational opportunities to those who visit.

Camping shelters are available at Wranglers
Campground (open year round) and Piney Campground (Mar-Nov).

There are general
back country camping
opportunities that abound within the 170,000 acre National Recreation
Area. You might also want to camp at lake
access camping areas on the property.
Group
center facilities
provide excellent environmental education opportunities along with
dormitory style lodging and excellent food facilities for those using the
group facilities.
Land Between the Lakes has activities for
environmental education, children's events, special family outings

as can be seen under the Interpretation leaf. We also want to offer

If you enjoy off highway vehicle use, there
are some camping
opportunities at the OHV area of Turkey Bay.
We urge our friends to visit each of the
gateway communities and to use their hotel or motel lodging and dining facilities before
