Volunteer Administration
"Friends of LBL" employees one full-time
volunteer coordinator to coach and organize LBL’s hundreds of volunteers.
Trail maintenance, litter clean-up, historical and environmental
interpretation, special event support, wildlife monitoring, and many other
activities are covered in part by volunteers. More than
14,000 hours were contributed
in pursuit of these purposes in recent years. These same volunteers drove
over 40,000 miles to support
LBL!
During a recent year, more than 8.000 hours of volunteer service was donated to LBL
through this program. With greater interest in the beautiful
outdoors, volunteer service hours increased
again to over 14,410! What a great group of volunteers! Citizens giving their valuable time to volunteer
to help make LBL a better place!

During another recent year, volunteers were very busy at LBL, as you can see.
25 Bugle Corps volunteers gave ...8,731
hours
24 Homeplace volunteers gave ....2,266 hours
60 Trails Crew volunteers gave ....1,814 hours
17 Planetarium volunteers gave ......400 hours
Overall over 4,000 service hours were given through different projects and
different special events.

LBL has many deeply committed volunteers who
give of themselves on a weekly basis. They give of their time, their
own energy and their own travel expenses to give back to a strip of land
which means so much to each of those who volunteer at LBL.
